Uncle Mark Moore's Contributions
Uncle Mark Moore (GT 1977), proud Gubbi Gubbi man, has been inducted as a Life Member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane for his dedicated service and contributions in Queensland. Uncle Mark has a deep and enduring connection with ATSICHS Brisbane having served on the Board in the 1980s. He then became the Human Resources Manager in 1998 to manage the organisation’s growth. From 1999 to 2008, he served as the longest-serving CEO, making a significant impact. Mark has always prioritised delivering culturally safe services, especially for Elders, and played a crucial role in obtaining accreditation for the Jimbelunga Nursing Centre and handling negotiations with Brisbane City Council for premises. He also established the Indigenous Family and Child Support Service and the Community Controlled Child Protection Service through dedication and collaboration with Government agencies. Congratulations Mark, we are proud of the outstanding contribution you have made to First Nations advocacy and care in Queensland.
